Avineon Appoints IRS Veteran to Serve as Director of Federal Systems Division
ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Avineon, Inc. ( http://www.avineon.com), a successful provider of IT, engineering, geospatial and program management services to the federal and commercial sectors, today announced the appointment of Richard P. Colombo as director of its Federal Systems division. Colombo will oversee projects within Avineon's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Treasury accounts, which include managing programs, customer relations and business development within the company's federal sector.

Colombo joins Avineon with more than 30 years of government experience in program and project management, business process improvement and strategic planning. He has held a number of positions with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), most recently as program manager and computer specialist with the Modernization and Information Technology Services' (MITS') Enterprise Networks (EN) organization. Previously, Colombo served as the project manager for the IRS ERAP project. He began his IRS career as a tax examiner and auditor, transitioning to a programmer developing applications.
